Karavaloor Maramadi Malsaram conducted on 8th November 2007 at Karavaloor Mannamkadakkal Ela. Karavaloor Gramapanchayat conducts this unique agrarian sporting activity in assosiation with Mathra Service Co-operative Bank Ltd. as a project under JANAKEEYASOOTHRANAM 2007-08. Hon. Agriculture Minister of Kerala Sri.Mullakkara Ratnakaran inaugurated the Malsaram at 10 a.m Adv.K.Raju.M.L.A presided over the function. Sri.Chengara Surendran M.P Flag-Off the race. Sri.V.Rajan (Acting-President) delivered welcome speech.
Maramadi Malsaram,an Ox race carnival, commonly held in villages of kerala during harvest season.Vast stretches of freshly ploughed paddy field (Kandam) form the stadium of the race.A pair of oxen managed by 3 person form a participating unit. 20 such units participated in the race.
